The Bush Hideaway
The Hideaway is in the middle of the coastal bush. It can accommodate up two people.
Guests have the option of renting mountain bikes or paddleboards.
The Location
Waiotoi – The Bush Hideaway is located in the hills at the end of Waiotoi Road in Ngunguru on the Tutukaka coast. From the Hideaway a bush trek leads down to Matapouri.
The Coast
The coast owes its beauty to the volcanic activity around 40’000 years ago. National Geographics rated the Tutukaka Coast as one of the three most beautiful in the world.
Tutukaka is the starting point to the Poor Knights Islands, one of the most beautiful diving and snorkeling paradises in New Zealand.
The Beaches
The Tutukaka is home to a variety of very beautiful beaches. These stretch from Ngunguru to Sandy Bay.
They invite you to swim, paddle board or snorkel. Matapouri and Whale were nominated again for “NZ Best Beaches” in 2021.
The Nature
The hideaway is located in the middle of a kiwi zone. In addition to the Kiwis, there are a large number of native birds such as the Tuis, Kererus, Fantails, Moreporks or Kingfishers.
The Nightsky
Thanks to its remote location, the Hideaway offers ideal conditions for star gazing.
